Dr. Jackie L. Halstead

I have been a therapist for over forty years, specializing in clergy and their families, and have been a spiritual director for twenty-five years. I have two certificates from Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in Leading Contemplative Prayer Groups and Retreats and in Spiritual Guidance.

In addition, I serve on the faculty of Abilene Christian University. After serving as department chair and program director for the Department of Marriage and Family Therapy on the residential campus, I now serve as a professor and senior associate director of the Online Marriage and Family Therapy program. I maintain active involvement in the profession through service on the national and state boards.

 

For the last twenty-five years, I have been speaking, teaching, and leading retreats on spiritual formation, contemplative prayer, as well as topics surrounding relational and mental health issues.  You can read my book, Leaning into God’s Embrace: A Guidebook for Contemplative Prayer by clicking here.
